Pasir Panjang is located about 21 km away from Port Dickson. This coastal area has no real beaches, but more mangrove swamps and rocky outcrops. It's the site of a traditional Malay village with fishing as its main activity. The attraction found here is the Pasir Panjang Forest Reserve, or Hutan Lipur, located on top of a hill. This little forest provides a nice place to stroll under the cover of trees while gazing out to the sea. A small hawker center can be found at the base of the hill, which serves a Malay speciality called 'Ikan Bakar' which is grilled fish wrapped in banana leaves. Visitors travelling further up north will come to Teluk Pelanduk, which is about 18 km away from Port Dickson. Again, this is a quiet fishing area with more mangrove swamps and coarse rocks making up its beachy area. |
